How to restore missing domain configuration options in version 4 of the Helm Control Panel

One issue you may face with version 4 of the Helm Control Panel is that when a domain is created, a majority options available for domain configuration may be missing. Under this circumstance, the only available modules may be ‘Sub-Domains’, ‘Domain Aliases’, and ‘Usage Settings’. This means that there is an error within the Modules for Helm, and they will need to be rebuilt.

This is easily accomplished with the Helm Configuration Tool.

Here is an example of what the domain settings window might appear as when faced with this particular issue.

Close the Helm Control Panel, and open the Helm Configuration Tool. If there is no icon on the desktop for the tool, you can access it by navigating to Start à Run, and once the Run dialog box is open, copy and paste the following command:

C:\Program Files\WebHost Automation\Helm4\Tools\HelmConfigurationTool.exe

Once entered, click OK. The Helm Configuration Tool should now open.

Once the tool is open, scroll down to the bottom of the list on the left-hand side of the window, and click the button for Software Updates.

Click the button on the right which says Reinstall All Modules.

You will get a confirmation asking if you would like to reinstall all installed modules. Click Yes.

You should see a green progress bar at the top of the window showing the progress of the modules as they are reinstalled. When finished, you will see a window confirming all modules were successfully installed. Click OK.

Re-login to Helm as Admin, navigate to My Domains, and then click on the domain you wish to edit. The configuration options should have returned, and the window should appear as it does below.
