How do I arrange for SSL access using HostRocket's shared SSL certificate?




To get your account setup for free Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) access send in a support ticket, requesting that your account be setup to use our shared SSL certificate. In some cases in order to enable SSL support we may need to move your account to an SSL capable server. When this is the case be aware that no file loss, or database loss will result from this move. However, we do find it important to warn you that your IP address will change, and therefore you should expect downtime ranging from 0-24 hours. Most users typically see downtime last for 2-3 hours. This downtime is the result of your ISP's DNS servers, which cache the old IP address (for performance reasons). This DNS caching occurs only when you have resolve your domain name somewhat recently, and users that have not recently visited your site will most likely not be affected.
