As a life coach, your online presence is often the first handshake between you and potential clients – and just like in real life, first impressions matter.

Creating a landing page that converts doesn’t have to feel like rocket science, especially with WordPress in your corner. Whether you’re starting from scratch or giving your existing page a makeover, this guide will walk you through the essentials of building a landing page that speaks to your ideal clients and moves them to take action.

The best part? You don’t need to be a tech wizard or hire an expensive developer. With the right tools and approach, you can create a professional, engaging landing page that reflects your coaching style and connects with your audience.

Ready to create a landing page that works as hard as you do? Let’s dive in.

Creating Your Life Coach Landing Page in WordPress 📝

While helping other business owners build their brand online, I noticed something consistent among life coaches: they excel at creating breakthroughs for their clients but often struggle to truly show off their expertise on the web.

Maybe you’re in that spot right now, wondering how to create a page that captures your unique approach to coaching, or perhaps you’ve been putting it off because it seems too technical.

Here’s what I learned during those freelance years: creating an effective landing page isn’t about fancy features or complex designs. It’s about clearly communicating your value and making it easy for potential clients to take the next step.

That’s exactly what we’ll cover in this guide. I’ll show you how to use WordPress to create a landing page that reflects your coaching style and connects with your ideal clients. No technical overwhelm, no complicated coding — just practical steps to help you create a page that works.

How to Create a Great Landing Page (Step-By-Step)

After you’ve purchased a custom domain and set up WordPress, it’s time to build your first landing page.

We recommend choosing the “Pre-built Landing Page” option.

You have a wide variety of pre-made templates to choose from — and that’s one of the great things about using a page builder like Thrive Architect for your landing pages.

Tip

Having great landing pages is one thing. But what does the rest of your website look like?

If you want to make your website as high-quality and professional as your landing page, I have the perfect guide for you. Check it out here.

Step 4: Customize Your Landing Page Template

Each of our landing page designs feature all the components you need to successfully promote your offer and compel your website visitors to take action.

These components include a:

Hero Section to create a great first impression…

… and encourage your audience to keep reading.

Add an attention-grabbing headline that immediately addresses your target audience’s pain point and use the supporting headline to briefly mention your solution the problem.

For your CTA button, avoid using generic prompts like “Click Here” or “Buy”. Use power phrases like “Sign Me Up”, “Tell Me More”, or “Join the VIPs” to compel your visitors to convert.

Also make sure that you use a high-quality visual for your hero image.

Features & Benefits Section to Show Off Your Life Coach Expertise

Use this section to paint a picture of how your product can make your potential client’s life better.

In your landing page copy, don’t just tell them what your product entails, describe how each feature will help improve your reader’s situation.

Pro tip

Copywriting can be tough — even for us experienced marketers! But here’s the thing: good copy boils down to a few basic principles that can easy be learned and practiced.

To learn them, take a look at this detailed guide.

About Section to Share Who You Are

The about section is your chance to build trust and connection with potential clients. While your entire landing page focuses on what you can do for them, this is where you briefly establish your credibility and humanity.

Keep it concise and relevant:

  • Share your coaching journey and what led you here
  • Highlight relevant certifications and experience
  • Include specific achievements that matter to your clients
  • Add a professional, approachable photo of yourself

Remember, this section isn’t your complete biography. Focus on details that show you understand your clients’ challenges and are qualified to help them overcome them. A well-crafted about section turns you from a stranger into a trusted guide.

Product Overview Sections to Provide More Details on Your Offer

Your product overview section is where you paint a clear picture of your coaching services. This isn’t just about listing what you offer – it’s about helping potential clients understand exactly what they’ll get and how you’ll help them achieve their goals.

For life coaches, this section should outline:

  • Your coaching approach or methodology
  • What specific programs or packages you offer
  • The format of your sessions (1:1, group, virtual, in-person)
  • Time commitments and expected outcomes
  • Any unique features that set your coaching apart

For example, if you offer a 12-week mindset coaching program, break down the journey: weekly video calls, worksheets, email support, and private community access. The clearer you make it, the easier it is for potential clients to say “yes, this is exactly what I need.”

Keep the language straightforward and benefits-focused. Remember, you’re not just selling coaching sessions – you’re offering a path to transformation that your ideal clients can easily envision themselves taking.

Social Proof to Build Trust

Social proof is a key component of a high-converting landing page. It helps you turn your visitors’ attention into trust.

Most of our landing page templates include a testimonial section, but if you want to add more we recommend placing them in the following places:

  1. Above the fold, right after your hero section

  2. After the “Features/Benefits” section

  3. Underneath the “About Us” section

  4. Close to a call-to-action button

Call to Action Sections to Prompt Conversions

The goal of a good landing page is to get your audience to take a specific action.

If you have a primary service you offer, you should have a CTA section that prompts your site visitors to buy it.

Thrive Architect also provides conversion-focused design elements like pricing tables, countdown timers, and lead-generation forms.

Just click on your element of choice and drag-and-drop it onto your page template.

If you want to customize your page’s fonts, simply click the headline or body text you want to customize and find the font settings in the left sidebar.

Lastly, don’t forget to save your work regularly.

Pro tip

Your call-to-action (CTA) is where everything comes together — it’s the moment of truth where interested visitors become valuable leads or subscribers. Think of all the content above it as building momentum for this important moment.
Getting your CTA right can make or break your landing page’s success. That’s why we’ve put together two essential resources to help you nail this key element:

We have two great resources to help you get this part of your page right:

Step 5: Connect Your New Landing Page to an Email Marketing Service

If you’re offering a free consultation, worksheet, or newsletter signup on your landing page, you’ll want to connect your forms to an email marketing service. This lets you automatically collect and manage client information.

Thrive Architect works seamlessly with popular email platforms like ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, and Drip. The setup process is straightforward:

You’ll need to connect your email service through API — and you only need to do this once.

Step 6: Test and Publish Your Landing Page

Once you’ve finished customizing your landing page, be sure to test it on different screens (desktop and mobile devices).

Hit “Publish” and start sharing links to your page through your mailing list, social media, and PPC ads if you have the budget for it.

We also recommend running regular A/B tests on your landing page, to ensure you’re presenting the most conversion-optimized version possible.

Next Steps: Getting Your Landing Page Seen

Creating your landing page is just the beginning. Now it’s time to connect it with potential coaching clients who need your services.

Start by sharing your page strategically on your social media platforms, using it as a destination for your email marketing efforts, and linking to it naturally from your blog posts and content. If you’re ready to invest in growth, consider targeted paid advertising on platforms where your ideal clients spend time.
